7 in-person and virtual workouts to try this weekend

From 5Ks and 10Ks to outdoor Zumba, stay active this weekend with the help of these activities.

Celebrate the first full week of fall (and the low humidity) by getting active this weekend. Whether you want to try a new class or test your endurance at a local race, here are seven weekend workouts to help you stay active.

Vinyasa & Yino

Friday, 6-7 p.m.
After a long work week, head over to Vint Hill Yoga for a relaxing night of yoga and wine. Start the class by working off your extra stress with a Vinyasa Flower series, then enjoy a glass of wine during the post-yoga social hour. // Vint Hill Yoga: 7154 Farm Station Road, Warrenton; $20

Twilight Yoga + Essential Oils with Liat

Friday, 8:15-9:15 p.m.
Enjoy a night of yoga under the moon and twinkling lights of Ease Yoga. Join others as you incorporate grounding and calming essential oils to your yoga routine. // Ease Yoga & Cafe: 3501 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria; $25

Family Health and Fitness Day

Saturday, 5 a.m.-5 p.m.
Take some time out of your Saturday for a family workout. Pure Barre’s virtual workout session allows the whole family to get their blood pumping from home. Registration is required. // free for first time attendees, class included in Pure Barre membership

Fountainhead Half Marathon/10K Trail Running Race

Saturday & Sunday, 7 a.m.-noon
Kick off your first weekend of fall with this in-person and virtual race. The annual Fountainhead Half Marathon and 10K race snakes through the banks of the Occoquan Reservoir for a nice morning among the trees. The in-person event will be capped at 150 runners per day. // Fountainhead Regional Park: 10875 Hampton Road, Fairfax Station; $45-80

Intro to Yoga

Saturday, 10-11 a.m.
If you are looking to reduce your stress, yoga may be the avenue for you. Stop by Harmony Yoga’s Intro to Yoga series to get the tips and guidance for starting out with other beginners. Saturday Zumba in the Park

Saturday, 10:30-11:20 a.m.
Get outside and enjoy the crisp fall air with Zumba in the Park. Spread out and enjoy a morning full of dancing as your burn off some extra calories. Participants are asked to bring water and a towel. // Virginia Highlands: 16th St. S., Arlington; free

2nd Annual 5K Chocolate Run

Sunday, 7-9 a.m.
Make your way to Fredericksburg for the second annual Chocolate Run. This family- and dog-friendly event follows the canal path and heritage trails in historic Fredericksburg. After the race, satisfy your sweet tooth with some delicious chocolate treats. // FAHASS: 4701 Market St., Fredericksburg; $45
