10 ways to get in a workout during Labor Day Weekend

Whether you want to relax with some yoga or dust off the golf clubs, get outdoors and enjoy your three-day weekend at one of these fitness-focused events.

Take advantage of your three-day weekend by planning a special workout for Labor Day. Whether you want to reduce your stress with an online yoga class or get outside for a socially distanced 5K, here are 10 workout classes and events to take part in this holiday weekend.

Community Yoga Class for Beginners

Friday, Sept. 4, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
After you clock out for the extended weekend, destress with some yoga. This beginner vinyasa class will teach you the basic skills needed to relax and center yourself. Primal Flow

Saturday, Sept. 5, 10-11:15 a.m.
Enjoy the crisp, morning weather this Saturday during an outdoor yoga session. Get in an hour of dynamic Primal Yoga as you connect with your surroundings. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat. // Liberty in Lorton: 9300 Quadrangle St., Lorton; $10

Bootcamp Fitness Series

Saturday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m.-noon
Start off your Saturday with a high-intensity boot camp. The seven-class series features muscle-burning moves from a local 3 Step Fitness instructor. Face coverings and social distancing will be required during the class. // John Carlyle Square Park: 3400 John Carlyle St., Alexandria; $5

Family Intro To Climbing Ages 5+

Saturday, Sept. 5, 4-6 p.m.
Keep the family active and entertained this weekend with some indoor rock climbing. This family-specific class will focus on safety skills and the basics needed to climb the vertical rock wall. // Vertical Rock Indoor Climbing and Fitness Center: 10225 Nokesville Road, Manassas; $15-$35

Open Championship Tee Time Tournament

Sunday, Sept. 6, 6 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Wake up early and spend your Sunday morning on the golf course. Register for the event when you check in for your tee time. Participants must have a valid USGA handicap to enter the tournament. // Algonkian Golf Course: 47001 Fairway Drive, Sterling; $10

2020 Cobbler Mountain 5k

Sunday, Sept. 6, 9 a.m.-noon
Lace up your running shoes and get in a 5K this weekend. After you finish your morning run, enjoy some cider from the cellar. Virtual options are also available. // Cobbler Mountain Cellars: 5909 Long Fall Lane, Delaplane; $12-$35

Namaste for a Beer at Hops N Shine

Sunday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Head over to Hops N Shine for its inaugural yoga class. Led by Connected Hearts Yoga, the outdoor class will help you stretch your stress away for a relaxing afternoon. A portion of the event fee will be donated to Project Second Chance. // Hops N Shine: 3410 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria; $30

F45 Tysons Labor Day Track Workout

Monday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.
Get out of the gym and hit the track this Labor Day for a special high-intensity, outdoor workout. Join F45 instructors, Cori and Jax, for a 45-minute, total-body workout that is sure to make you sweat. // George C. Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga Mondays

Monday, Sept. 7, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
For all expecting and new mothers, get some much needed relaxation with Turiya Yoga + Wellness. This prenatal and postpartum class focuses on building strength and flexibility while lightening your mood with yoga and social interaction. // $16

Outdoor Yoga Challenge

through Wednesday, Sept. 30, 5 a.m.-7 p.m.
Take your workouts outside this month with Old Town Athletic Campus’ Outdoor Yoga Challenge. This event challenges participants to attend 12 sessions of yoga, Pilates, meditation or online instruction during the month.
