7 meditation and yoga classes to try this weekend

Spend the weekend focusing on relaxation as you go into the new month with these virtual and in-person yoga and meditation classes.

With July on its way out, celebrate the new month with some relaxing yoga and meditation classes. Whether you want to recenter yourself as you go into August or try out a new yoga class from home, here are seven healthy virtual and in-person classes and workshops to try this weekend.

Virtual Workshop: Meditation and Mindfulness

Friday, July 31, 12:15-12:45 p.m.
Get rid of all the stress that has accumulated throughout the workweek and month of July with a quick meditation session. These 30-minute classes get inspiration from artwork at the National Museum of Asian Art. No experience necessary. // free

Yoga and Mimosas

Saturday, Aug. 1, 9-11 a.m.
Celebrate the first of the month with some mimosas. Get in an outdoor morning yoga class then head over to Trademark Drink & Eat for your celebratory drink. Make sure to bring your own mat. // Trademark Drink & Eat: 2080 Jamieson Ave., Alexandria; $5

Online Yoga from the Garden

Saturday, Aug. 1, 10:30 a.m.
Set up your laptop in the living room or in the backyard for a virtual yoga session. Held at the U.S. Botanic Garden, participants will love the serene backdrop of beautiful plants and flowers. Only the first 500 participants to log in will be able to join the class. // free

Yoga at the Brewery

Saturday, Aug. 1, 12:30 p.m.

Kids & Family Yoga

Saturday, Aug. 1, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Baby Goat Yoga

Sunday, Aug. 2, 9-10 a.m.

Sound Healing Relaxation

Sunday, Aug. 2, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Recenter yourself for the upcoming workweek with the sound of crystal singing bowls. Sound healing helps decrease anxiety and pain while improving sleep and energy balance. // 3260 Duke St., Alexandria; $25
