9 outdoor and virtual workouts to try out this weekend

Whether you want to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air or stay at home, these workouts are sure to get your blood pumping.

After a week full of unbearable humidity throughout the region, take advantage of the cool weather heading our way this weekend by taking your workout routine outside. Whether you want to try out a new outdoor class or prefer to be in the air conditioning to start your morning with a relaxing yoga session in your living room, these nine workouts will keep you active this weekend. 

Free Virtual Pilates Class
Friday, noon-12:45 p.m.
Spend your lunch break getting toned with Powercore Pilates. This 45-minute class is equipment-free, so just bring yourself and a mat for a true core workout. // free

Free Virtual Happy Hour Ride
Friday, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Join New Trail Cycling Studio for happy hour this Friday. For 50 minutes, you can choose to bike, run on the treadmill, ride the rower or take a walk outside. After a hard workout, grab a water or beer and join fellow riders for a celebratory drink. // free

Yoga in the Lavender Field
Saturday, 9 a.m.
Enjoy the calming scents of lavender and release your stress with some morning yoga. Enjoy the crisp summer morning air as you work out your tension to start the weekend off right. // Blooming Hill: 19929 Telegraph Springs Road, Philomont; $15

Outdoor Yoga & Pilates in Vienna Parks
Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m.

Online Yoga from the Garden
Saturday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Enjoy the relaxing views of the U.S. Botanic Garden from right inside your home. Start your morning off with one hour of yoga and meditation surrounded by the beautiful flowers and plants from the garden. Registration is required. // free

Vinyasa with a View
Sunday, 10-11 a.m.

Yoga & Beer at Rocket Frog Brewing
Sunday, 10-11 a.m.

Bootcamp & Brunch

QuaRUNtine 50K
Through June 23, 5 a.m.
For all those who have picked up running while social distancing, this event is for you. Head to George Washington National Forest for the ultimate 31-mile virtual race. All runners will receive a GPS tracker, map and cue sheet. // $60
