You now have one more reason to get to a Pilates class, and it’s a good one. Puppies and Pilates has opened locations in Arlington and West Springfield.
Each session includes 45 minutes of instructor-led mat Pilates with puppies in the room, followed by 30 minutes of wellness time to interact more with the puppies.
The workouts help the puppies, too. They get early socialization in a clean and calm environment. Sessions are held for up to 30 participants on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Participants are getting a real workout first and foremost,” said Alex Perrin, director of operations. “The puppies add an element of joy and connection, but the foundation is an athletic, modern approach to Pilates that people will come back for again and again.”
Puppies and Pilates works with responsible local breeders. The pups get nap breaks in between classes — and whenever they feel like snoozing. The puppies who take part in the classes are between 7 and 12 weeks old and up to date on vaccinations.
Different mocktails will be served each weekend after the workouts.
Participants must be 12 years and older, and tickets are $65 per person. Bookings are available online.
