Fresh, farm-to-table and ready-to-eat meals can now be delivered to your doorstep across the DMV.

Azuluna is a Connecticut-based team of farmers, chefs and nutritionists that started as a government grant project that hoped to expand, grow and support the farmers of New England.

With farm-fresh ingredients in tow, the company is now creating and delivering health-focused meals to East Coast customers, including the Northern Virginia and DC area, with free two-day shipping.

Meals are created by Rachael LaPorte, Azulana co-founder and executive chef, and include a rotating menu of beef, pork, chicken and seafood entrees, with options such as the Classic Glazed Meatloaf, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Chicken Pot Pie.

The company claims to make sure the meals have a combination of healthy fats, lean protein and slow-acting carbohydrates, and produced the meals with sustainably raised meats and seasonal produce.

Customers can choose a buy-as-you-go option, where individual meals can be purchased in increments of eight for $15 a meal, and shipped prior to the upcoming week, or a subscription-based membership that include six to 16 packaged meals. Subscriptions start at $90. Meals are to be microwaved (in microwave-safe, oven-safe, recyclable and BPA-free packaging) and can be frozen for up to three months.
