Favorite place to celebrate: My home, and yes, you can still afford to live here, at least by the standards of America’s major cities.
Favorite place to connect with nature: My backyard, as this region has kept its coat of green.
Favorite place tourists don’t know about: Am I allowed to say Northern Virginia? Except for a few of the memorials close to D.C., our paradise is almost completely unspoiled.
Favorite place for a day of fun: I like to drive around to a few varied parts of the region to dine out, run errands and shop; for instance Annandale-Vienna-Falls Church is one good sequence. A second pick would be Angelika in Mosaic or ending up at the Birchmere in Alexandria.
Favorite place for a night out on the town: Koreatown in Annandale, almost anywhere.
Favorite place for a day of shopping: I can’t shop for more than two hours, but still the answer is Tysons I, which now has a wonderful dosa stand, too.
Favorite little-known NoVA dining scene: How about Kao Sarn in Eden Center?
