The Cherry On Top
I’m planning a trip to Sicily in the fall. I’ve already gotten information from my hotel letting me know that cannoli will be served for breakfast. I’m going to prepare with some cherry-blossom-flavored pastries from the best Italian baker in the region, Bisnonna Bakeshop. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
To Infinity And Beyond
After years of waiting, the Hirshhorn’s One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama exhibit is finally open. If the pictures are anything like the real thing, it’s definitely a can’t-miss event. This Saturday, I’m waking up super early and heading into the District for a chance to snag some tickets. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
Lost and Found Art
Del Ray Artisans has opened its Second Life Art Exhibit–all works are made from at least 50 percent recycled materials. Open Thursdays, Fridays, and the weekend, it’s an opportunity to check out local art and purchase sustainable home decor at the same time. –James Finley, senior editor
Velvet Underground
I’m going to sink into a cushy sofa at Bombay Velvet and order a dish of their amazing-looking malai kofta, a vegetarian delicacy I’ve never gotten around to trying at my favorite Indian restaurants. Looks like great comfort food for these cool, windy days. –Kelly Kendall, editor
