The Slice Is Right
I think it’s well-documented by now that I’m a pizza fanatic. If there were a card to carry, it would be in my wallet. Of course I have to try Midwest tavern-style pizza for the first time at Nighthawk Pizza in Arlington. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
On the Waterfront
I’m going to cross my fingers for a warm afternoon this week–at least, one warm enough for me to enjoy a cocktail with a waterfront view. A rummy concoction like a Samoan Typhoon or Missionary’s Downfall sounds pretty amazing right now. –Kelly Kendall, editor
Dog Days
This weekend is all about the dogs. Me and my pooches, Arlo and Reese, are making the drive to Alexandria for the first annual ALX Dog Walk. My fingers are crossed that one of them will keep their outfits on long enough for the coolest costume contest. If they are good boys, I’m sure we will end up making a pit stop for a sweet treat. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
When the Bluebells Toll
These little blue flowers called bluebells are kind of like NoVA’s response to DC’s cherry blossoms, in that people throw events every April to celebrate the fact that they’re blooming. For the purists, Bull Run Regional Park hosts nature walks and photography classes around the flowers, starting April 3. –James Finley, senior editor
