Washington Nationals offer virtual game-day options for fans

Bring the game-day experience to your couch with virtual watch parties, Zoom backgrounds and ballpark grub.

With Opening Day in the books, the Nationals and baseball are officially back. Since fans are not going to be attending games this year, the team has decided to bring the game-day experience to your home with a variety of virtual options that include watch parties, ballpark food deliveries and the usual theme games. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming offerings from the Washington Nationals.

Nats Kits

Add some virtual fun to your at-home game-day experience with the Nats Kits. The free, downloadable kits will have different themes throughout the season include a variety of Nats-themed virtual offerings.

This week, the themes are “Nat Your Average Birthday Party” and “Game Time.” The birthday kit includes four Nationals party hats, sidewalk stencils, Zoom backgrounds and much more. The game-day kit includes Zoom backgrounds, a scorecard, game time recipes and post-game movie suggestions.

Virtual Watch Parties and Theme Games

While fans will be watching games from their couch instead of gathering at Nationals Park, they will still be able to get the true game-day experience with virtual watch parties. The team plans to hold virtual watch parties for season ticket holders, the community and philanthropic partners throughout the season. If you are lucky, your watch party could end up on the scoreboard during a Nats game for all the players and staff to see.

Your favorite Nats theme games will also be going online. The team will be sharing content on their social media platforms for “Pups at Home,” Virtual Night OUT,” Healthcare Appreciation” and “Caturday.” Fans will be able to interact with the organization by sending in photos and participating on social media.

Best Ballpark Bites Delivery

Ballpark food is a staple when going to a game. Well, now you can bring the delicious Nats Dogs, pizza and Cracker Jacks to your home with Best Ballpark Bites Delivered. This delivery service allows you to order food directly from Nationals Park and have it delivered to your door.

Just order your food by midnight the day before a night game to get all your game-day grub before first pitch. Fans can choose from three pack options:  Enzo’s Pizza Pack, Backyard Grill Pack and Tacos & Nacos Pack. All packs provide servings for two to three people and cost $75 each.

Single-serving options are also available. Choose between hot dogs, sausages, Cracker Jacks, chili and more, with prices running from $6 to $21. The delivery service also sells four-packs of cocktails, six-packs of beer and hard seltzer, and desserts.

Championship Gold Collection

Lastly, you can dress like the champions with the Nationals Gold Collection. To commemorate the team’s 2019 World Series championship, the players wore special gold jerseys and hats on Opening Day to celebrate last year’s triumphs.

The collection is now available to fans at the Nats Team Store and online. Items available online include replica hats and jerseys and T-shirts. Make your way down to the stadium to find polos, pins, World Series patches and decals and other home items.
