Country music and cultural icon Dolly Parton passed away on August 25 at the age of 80, but her spirit lives on. To celebrate her larger-than-life personality — and her efforts to promote literacy through her Imagination Library — communities around the country have dubbed September 25 (a nod to her hit song “9 to 5”) as “Dolly Day.” Here are some activities planned around Northern Virginia.
Dolly Day in Dunn Loring

Local businesses are donating a portion of their profits this weekend to childhood literacy organizations.
