Family camping is a great option for an affordable vacation or quick weekend getaway. And you don’t have to leave all your comforts from home behind. Pohick Bay Regional Park
Camping at Pohick Bay Regional Park offers both deluxe and rustic cabins. The rustic cabins come with a porch swing and picnic table, electricity, heat and air conditioning, and can sleep up to six people. There are minimal appliances and bathrooms with showers and laundry facilities are approximately 100 yards away at a comfort station.
If you’d prefer more amenities, the deluxe cabins have everything the rustic ones do, plus a toaster oven, burner stove, and Keurig coffee maker. Raymond R. “Andy” Guest, Jr. Shenandoah River State Park
The Raymond R. “Andy” Guest, Jr. Shenandoah River State Park camping offers a large riverside picnic area with shelters and trails. Sleeping amenities range from riverfront primitive tent campsites to campgrounds with water and electric sites and yurts. Aquia Pines Camp Resort
In addition to both luxury and rustic cabins, Aquia Pines has RV park campsites. Guests can choose a large site in the open, or a smaller site deeper in the woods. Full (water, electric, and sewer) or partial hookups are offered, as is on-site Wi-Fi. Some of the sites can accommodate bigger RVs without the need to unhook your tow. Bull Run Regional Campground

Lake Fairfax Campground
Camping at Lake Fairfax includes spacious sites that are both big-rig and tent-friendly. There are large sites for groups of up to 100, RV electric hookups, freshwater fill-up stations, and bathrooms with showers. The area offers hiking trails, freshwater fishing, and The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole waterpark. Prince William Forest RV Campground
This private, concession operated campground offers paved, pull-through sites for RVs that are a maximum 35 feet long with single car parking areas next to them. There are heated restrooms with free showers, a swimming pool for warmer months, playground, and laundry facilities. Watermelon Park
Watermelon Park is for RV camping only. On-site amenities include a volleyball court and a camp store that sells gear, souvenirs, ice cream, and hot coffee.
