National Cherry Blossom Festival
March 20 to April 12
Head into DC for the annual tradition that officially means spring is here. The National Cherry Blossom Festival will include favorites like the Blossom Kite Festival, Petalpalooza, and of course the pink blossoms themselves. Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival
April 18 and 19
If you’ve been eager to get out and do some spring gardening, the Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival will be on the streets of downtown Leesburg on April 18 and 19. The event will showcase flowers, plants, and other landscaping and outdoor living products. There’s also a rooftop beer and wine garden, a landscape display contest, and additional entertainment. 99th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival
April 24 to May 3
In 1924, the first Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival took place. It was just a one-day event. Now in its 99th year, the festival lasts over one week. There will be a carnival, live music, fire truck rodeo, a 10K, and additional activities. 135 N. Cameron St., Winchester
Spring Wine Festival at Mount Vernon
May 15 to 17, 6 to 9 p.m.
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. at Mount Vernon by sampling wines on a blanket overlooking the Potomac River. There will be live music by The Hula Monsters, and guests can check out newly restored rooms like Washington’s bedchamber, which has new wallpaper that resembles what the room would have looked like circa 1799.
Old Town Festival of Speed & Style
May 17
The seventh annual festival takes place along the lower blocks of King Street. More than 40,000 car lovers and watchers check out what has recently become one of the East Coast’s leading car showcases. Strawberry Jubilee Fest at Great Country Farms

ViVa Vienna
May 23 to 25
Now in its 42nd year, ViVa Vienna is a great spring festival option for all ages. In addition to traditional carnival rides, princess characters will be roaming around. Artisans will be selling their wares and Ocho De Bastas and the Vienna Singing Process will be providing live musical entertainment. Church St., Vienna
Bull Run Wine Festival
May 30 and 31
Bull Run’s annual wine festival includes food trucks, live music, and of course, wine tastings. An artisan market with local exhibitors will be on display, too. 15950 Lee Hwy., Centreville
