Ready for a weekend full of fun? From classical performances to Earth-conscious festivals and fairs, here are some of NoVA’s best weekend events to choose from.

ALICE (In Wonderland)

April 24–27

Take a whimsical adventure down the rabbit hole as The Washington Ballet performs Edwaard Liang’s ALICE (In Wonderland). The classic fairy tale comes to life with vibrant costumes and eccentric choreography. Main Theater at Capital One Hall: 7750 Capital One Tower Rd., McLean, tickets start at $44

Stamp & Scrapbook Expo

April 25–26

This consumer scrap show is coming to the Dulles Expo Center after more than 20 years in business. Get creative as you participate in workshops, win prizes, learn new techniques, and much more. Dulles Expo Center: 4368 Chantilly Ctr., Chantilly, $12

98th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival

April 25–May 4

Celebrate the end of April showers and the beginning of May flowers at this 10-day festival with more than 50 fun-filled events. Embrace the lively atmosphere with friends and family by participating in one of the sports tournaments, shopping from different small businesses, watching comedy shows, grooving to live music, and reveling in the beautiful community of the Shenandoah Valley. Locations vary in Winchester, ticket prices vary 

Alexandria Art Show & Craft Spring Fair

April 26, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Get ready for a day full of charm and creativity as you celebrate Mother’s Day early and find unique treasures she’ll appreciate. Choose from a curated selection of handmade gifts and crafts, including jewelry, home decor, fine art, and more. Best Buddies Friendship Walk

April 26, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Help to raise awareness and funds for Best Buddies in Virginia and DC in this annual walk. Join a crowd of approximately 2,000 people in support of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and make this an unforgettable experience for the entire family. Festival of Colors 2025

April 26, 12–7 p.m.

Get ready for a day filled with great entertainment and good vibes at this celebration of Holi, the festival of colors. Dance with friends to live music from celebrity DJs, try different cuisines, congregate at the full bar or hookah lounge, participate in kid-friendly activities, and paint yourself and others in celebration. Bull Run Regional Park: 7700 Bull Run Dr., Centreville, $15–$100  

Kala Ramnath, Abhijit Banerjee and Christylez Bacon

April 26, 8 p.m.

Prepare for a mixture of cultures and musical genres, featuring DC’s own “human beatbox” Christylez Bacon, award-winning tabla player and composer Abhijit Banerjee, and the “singing violin” Kala Ramnath. The Barns at Wolf Trap: 16635 Trap Rd., Vienna, tickets start at $38

Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival

April 26–27

Revel in the spring season at this award-winning festival event in the streets of historic downtown Leesburg this weekend. Once you’re done smelling the roses, enjoy a rooftop beer and wine garden, three entertainment stages, landscape display contests, and tons of other fun activities. Historic Downtown Leesburg, free  

SuperCon

April 26-27

Fans of comics, anime, video games, and board games will gather in the ARTFactory in Manassas for this fandom and artist convention. There will be three floors of the experience, including a cosplay contest, panels, an artist alley, and food trucks. ARTFactory: 9419 Battle St., Manassas, $15-$45

Bohemian Rhapsody

April 27, 3 p.m.

The Virginia National Ballet’s beloved production is back in its eighth year. They’ll also be performing the tango-infused neo classical ballet Tango Nights and the beautiful music of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata in the new-world premiere of Moonlight. Del Ray GardenFest

April 27, 12–4 p.m.

Take part in a host of interactive garden-themed activities and demonstrations, talk to experts at informational booths, and purchase plants to take home. Earth Day Every Day Festival

April 27, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Make this weekend a memorable one at this eco-friendly event. Celebrate the earth with sustainable, kid-friendly activities, live music, delicious foods and drinks, informative environmental booths, raffles, art vendors, and more.  Lee Heights Shops: 4500 Cherry Hill Rd., Arlington, free 

Planet Virginia

April 27, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

End the weekend right by celebrating sustainability, health, and incredible food with over 50 vendors at this fun-filled festival. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, featuring engaging discussions with industry experts, interactive exhibits, and a Play Zone for the kids.
