Explore the Holiday Scenery of Downtown Fredericksburg in a Historic Ford Model-A

You’ll be transported back in time as you enjoy the festive views of the city from the back of the historic car.

The holidays are full of nostalgia. And if you love Christmases past, consider adding a new tradition to your holiday fun. You can now book a 1928 Ford Model-A for a holiday light tour around historic Fredericksburg.

Fredericksburg Model-A Car Tours, LLC is packing on the nostalgia with its Holiday Light Rides. You can book a tour for a group of up to six people to explore the sites of Fredericksburg while they’re decorated to the nines for the holidays. During the 20- to 30-minute tour, you can enjoy the views of the Christmas tree at Hurkamp Park, decorated houses in the Victorian neighborhood, the Hallmark-esque decorations that line Caroline Street, and other stunning landmarks.

This is the first full season where riders can enjoy the festive atmosphere from the back of the Ford Model-A. Blankets and Christmas music are provided, so bring your own hot cocoa and sit back and take in the merry sites.

The concept was brought to Virginia by Katrina Canfield, the owner of Fredericksburg Model-A Car Tours, LLC. Originally, Canfield worked with horse-drawn carriages and started her own vintage car tour in Michigan. When she relocated to Virginia, she brought the concept south with her. After taking almost a year to refurbish the Ford Model-A, Canfield officially opened her tour to the public in 2023.

While the Holiday Lights Rides are seasonal, history lovers can take a tour any time of the year. Daytime tours focus more on the history of Fredericksburg.

The Holiday Light Rides are available to book Thursdays through Sundays, 5 to 8 p.m., until the end of December. Tickets range from $45 to $125 depending on how many riders are in your group. Plus, you don’t have to leave your furry friends out of the holiday fun: Pets can join the tours for no extra charge. 620 Caroline St., Fredericksburg
