Want to get the feeling of watching a live show without having to go all the way to a theater? The Concert Truck, a fully functional music hall on wheels, will take the theater to you with a series of public performances from September 27 to 29.
Capital One Hall will host The Concert Truck for six total shows throughout Northern Virginia, with performances in Alexandria, Tysons, Annandale, and Fairfax. The shows will feature The Concert Truck’s co-founder Nick Luby and vocalist Jacob Lamb, performing one-hour arrangements of Broadway tunes.
The Concert Truck is a 16-foot box truck that co-founders Luby and Susan Zhang converted into a concert hall, complete with lights, a sound system, and a piano. According to its website, the truck “strengthens communities by redefining the concert experience and making live music accessible to everyone.”
“The Concert Truck’s mission aligns so perfectly with Capital One Hall’s commitment to provide community access to the arts, we can’t imagine a better partner,” said Cristina Mayer, the marketing director of Capital One Hall.
According to Capital One Hall, this partnership aims to “bring the music of Broadway into the community” ahead of the upcoming Broadway in Tysons series.
Luby and Zhang first launched The Concert Truck in 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina, and have since performed in venues across the country.
All of the performances are free and open to the public. Attendees should plan to bring their own seating, and the shows will happen rain or shine.
