Lofty Ambitions
My birthday falls midweek next week, so this weekend, it’s time to party! And by party, I mean pet cute goats. That’s why I’m making a reservation at Round Hill’s Goat Loft on Airbnb. If I get to help bottle-feed a newborn (it’s kidding season, after all), I may expire before I make it another year. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Stroll Around Town
Now that the sun is shining and spring weather is finally hitting the region this week, I’m spending as much time as possible outdoors. And what better way to get some fresh air than strolling the historic pedestrian mall in Winchester. From touring the Civil War museum to picking up kitchen gadgets at Nibblins, I’m definitely squeezing in as much fun (and steps) as I can. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
Cherry Blossom Time
Despite my good intentions, I did not make it to this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, which I have never seen before. I’m hoping to make up for lost time at Saturday’s Petalpalooza. I’ll go later in the day so I can catch the pink fireworks show. –Kelly Kendall, editor
Tiling Away the Time
The Sparrow Room, a new mahjong parlor and speakeasy in Arlington with some fun cocktails, is holding lessons in the ancient tile game every Wednesday. It’s not cheap, $30 per ticket, but playing a strategy game that originated in the Qing dynasty while sipping a clarified Mezcal-and-mango-pudding cocktail is a one-of-a-kind experience. –James Finley, senior editor
