If there has been one thing missed these past few months it has been live music concerts. Whether it is Wolf Trap’s amazing summer series or The Birchmere’s lineup full of stars from the ’80s and ’90s, usually summers in Northern Virginia are packed full of great concerts with amazing talent.
Even though COVID-19 shifted our summer schedules, Northern Virginians can now look forward to in-person concerts in the fall, including these nine concerts below, all being held in September.
Twin Brothers Band
Thursday, Sept. 3, 7 p.m.
The Twin Brothers Band, led by Greek identical twins Paul and Dimitri Yeonas, focuses on funky blues rock jams. While they are known to the Richmond music scene, this quartet is making its way up to NoVA for a performance with music inspired by The Grateful Dead and Phish. // The State Theatre: 220 N. An Outside Official Album Release Show for Karen Jonas
Thursday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m.
Local NoVA artist Karen Jonas is celebrating her fifth album, The Southwest Sky and Other Dreams, with a free outdoor concert. Fans can expect 10 songs on the new album, focusing on the space between “romantic dreamstate and numb reality.” // Jammin Java: 227 Maple Ave E., Vienna; free
The Eric Scott Band CD Release Show!
Friday, Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m.

33 ⅓ Live’s Killer Queen Experience
Saturday, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m.

Form of Expression

If your taste in music involves a little bit of everything, you’ll probably like Form of Expression. Toby Lightman
Thursday, Sept. 17, 7:30 p.m.
Chances are you’ve heard Toby Lightman’s music before, whether you know it or not. Lightman’s music has been featured on late-night TV shows, the movie P.S. Willy Porter
Wednesday, Sept. 23, 8 p.m.

TUSK- The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute

The Beat Hotel
