As the global pandemic continues to keep Northern Virginia residents in their homes, we could all use as much entertainment as possible. Plus, no sports on TV has us all craving a little bit of competition.
Earlier this month, Rosslyn BID, the business development service of Arlington County’s Rosslyn neighborhood, implemented a virtual trivia series happening twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) online at 5 p.m.
Through a 20-question, online trivia game, with topics ranging from pop culture to historical facts, you’ll compete against up to 500 other local residents (per session) for the chance to win gift cards to Target, Safeway or CVS. The digital gift cards—starting at $25 for third place and increasing to $75 for first place—will help you stock up on all cleaning supplies, household essentials and anything else you need during quarantine. The faster you respond to each question with the correct answer, the more points will be added to your score.
In addition to stimulating your mind, you can get in some physical exercise with Rosslyn BID too, as the company has partnered with several local fitness studios, such as Gold’s Gym, The Village Mind and Bash Boxing, to offer free, virtual content for NoVA residents. Many of the partners are also offering tips and tools relating to physical therapy, as well as overall mental and physical wellbeing as COVID-19 continues to spread.
“Community is very important to us in Rosslyn, and while staying at home is the right thing to do right now, we know that people are craving connections to each other,” said Rosslyn BID President Mary-Claire Burick in a recent press release. “Everyone loves pub trivia and a free workout class, so we figured we would bring those amenities into everyone’s homes.”
