Time to tune your TV to a fan-favorite summer event—Shark Week returns July 28 on the Discovery Channel.
The network says the 2019 shark-themed coverage (running through Aug. 4) will be “so good you’ll scream,” according to its official Twitter account and is scheduled to have over 20 hours of programming.
But if you’re looking for a way to take the festivities beyond your living room, you’ll want to walk (or swim) your way to the District Wharf for its Shark Bites & Brews event.
Guests can kick off Shark Week on the District Pier on Saturday, July 27, with shark-inspired activities for every age. Kids can enjoy a game of pin the fin on the shark, a coloring station and shark piggy bank decorating.
Adults, however, can take a ride on the great white mechanical shark, go down the monster shark water slide and enjoy a shark-inspired brew from the bar, such as a Landshark Lager, Cisco Shark Tracker or Ballast Point Fanthom. Guests can also participate in the planned relay races and be entered to win gift cards or a new Yeti cooler.
District Wharf will also have a Jumbotron at the event, with Shark Week’s programming on throughout the afternoon.
