Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University

Spanning across three campuses in Fairfax, Loudoun and Reston counties, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute provides seniors with a variety of courses that are sure to provide entertainment and enrichment throughout the autumn months. The eight-week session features classes in art and music, religious studies, technology and so much more. Individuals have the opportunity to take as many courses as they would like, as well as attend any of the session’s featured events following registration, which will open at the end of August. // Tallwood main site: 4210 Roberts Road, Fairfax; $435 for full membership at all three sites
Lifetime Learning Institute of Northern Virginia
Sept. 9-Dec. 13
This fall, spend a few months travelling and learning with friends when you join the Lifetime Learning Institute, a nonprofit organization created by NoVA Community College. Those who sign up will have the opportunity to participate in educational classes, overnight trips, informative speaker forums and so much more. Previous fall sessions have featured an acrylic painting course, as well as a tour of Sicily and Rome. Senior Citizen Non-Degree Program
Both fall and spring semesters
Georgetown University is now giving seniors over the age of 65 the opportunity to attend courses at one of the most prestigious universities in the country via this unique program. Individuals can choose from a variety of undergraduate level courses, ranging from history to astronomy, without paying the cost of semester-long tuition. Can’t commit to a whole semester? The Arlington County 55-plus Travel Program has you covered. Since 1971, this program has given individuals in Arlington and neighboring communities the opportunity to experience events outside of their town, including NSO performances and trips to various Smithsonian Museums.
