Ever wonder what that plant-based diet is all about? You know, the one your vegan friends always mention? Now’s your chance to find out. The Fairfax Veg Fest, set for April 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will focus on plant-based diets and their impacts on human health, the environment and more.
Guests will enjoy food samples, opportunities to ask questions with local experts, family-friendly games for kids and cooking demonstrations. Some vendors will not be exclusively vegan, but all food and products sold at Fairfax Veg Fest will be vegan.
Vendors at Fairfax Veg Fest include healthy living and eco-friendly exhibitors and nonprofits, including vegan farm animal sanctuary Peaceful Fields Sanctuary; chalk artist Brianna Camp; Simply Scented Candles; educational nonprofit A Vegan Life; Fat Badger Bakery; MOM’s Organic Market; Samskara Yoga & Healing; and more.
Eric O’ Grey, director of Philanthropy for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, will speak at Fairfax Veg Fest, as well as Farm Sanctuary’s Gene Baur; GreenFare LLC CEO Gwyn Whittaker; Damien Mander, founder of International Anti-Poaching Foundation; T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study; and three medical professionals.
The event also has the goal being a zero-waste festival, and guests are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags to carry their purchases from vendors.
