SER Kids Cooking Class
Why should you eat brunch at SER this weekend? Free babysitting. The Arlington Spanish restaurant collects all the kids during brunch service, puts them at a table and hosts a cooking class while parents sit and enjoy their own cooked-for-them brunch. Remembering Kid-Free Halloweens
With two children in tow this Halloween (who are going as Princess Anna and Olaf from Frozen for anyone who’s asking), my husband and I are far from the days of dressing up and going to an adults-only Halloween party. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want some treats beyond what I steal from my kids’ bags. I’m hoping to slip away for a quick cocktail at one of these local spots offering Halloween-themed treats this week. My kind of trick-or-treating
The closest thing that I do nowadays to trick-or-treating is doing a pub crawl, and fittingly enough there is a Halloween-themed one in Alexandria to ring in the fright-inducing holiday. Traveling between different pubs across Old Town while enjoying some brews and learning about the most haunted spirits that call Alexandria home will make this one of the more memorable Halloweens in a while. –MB // Chadwicks: 203 The Strand, Alexandria; $25
