From honeygrow in Tysons Corner to a block party in Vienna: What we’re looking forward to this week

All the bowls: honeygrow opens in Tysons Corner
The last few times I’ve been home to South Jersey, we’ve ordered honeygrow, the Philadelphia-based counter-operation of bowls, salads and stir frys, and I’m particularly fond of the “make it grain” salad with wheat berries, red quinoa, arugula, grapes, feta and cashews. There are already locations in Pentagon City and Reston, but this Friday, another opens in Tysons Corner. Local artist Cita Sadeli (aka CHELOVE) is creating an installation for the space and the opening day special lets the first 100 people who donate to Back on My Feet get a free salad or stir fry, and $5 from each order will also go to the charity. –SG  // 8399 Leesburg Pike, Vienna

Still chillin’, but this time in public
My roommate and I recently moved near Mosaic District, but I have to admit that in the month or so we’ve been there, we haven’t done any exploring. Most Fridays we usually just decompress with wine and a movie, but this week we will spend the evening checking out Vienna’s block party, Chillin’ on Church. The food truck lineup looks delicious—chicken and waffles, mac and cheese, milk and cookies … all the comfort food—and the fact that there’s live music and free admission gives us another reason to break away from our usual routine. –RK // Freeman Store and Museum: 131 Church St., Vienna

Running into fall
Saturday marks the first day of fall and another edition of an Arlington tradition. Kicking off Clarendon Day early in the morning is the annual Clarendon Day Run, which includes a 5K and 10K race, as well as a Kids Dash down Wilson Boulevard. The downhill course and post-race celebrations make this a popular event for runners of all skill levels. This will be my second year doing the race; I hold no allusions of winning, but I’m hoping to set a personal best and earn the free drink ticket each runner is given. –MB // 2854 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; $10-$55

Morning high
There’s not a whole lot that drags me out of bed these days aside from work and my sleepless 5-month-old, but I think this new yoga class at The Observation Deck at CEB Tower in Arlington is going to do it. This Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. kicks off a Sunrise Yoga Series where you can get your morning Zen with a side of spectacular city views. Fitness guru Mona Lavinia leads the first class of this monthly event. I’ll be the yogi with spit up on her leggings.  –KB // 1201 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; $20
