The Stanley Cup belongs to the Washington Capitals for the first time in franchise history, so it’s time to party. Want to wear that fact proudly or see Alex Ovechkin and company lift the Cup in person? Be sure to check back here as we will keep you updated on all the announcements related to the Caps’ celebrations.

Championship parade set for Tuesday
You’ll have all weekend to work on your best sick voice, because the Capitals championship parade has been officially set for Tuesday, June 12, at 11 a.m. The parade will begin at Constitution Avenue and 17th Street NW, proceeding down to 7th Street NW and the National Mall, where the ALLCAPS rally will take place. The parade is free to attend, but it is recommend to take Metro or rideshares for transportation. Additional details, including the speaking program, will be announced later.

Rock the red (and Stanley)
Official Stanley Cup Champions gear is now available for fans. If you’re still partying on G street outside the Capital One Arena, be sure to stop in at the Team Store where all the gear is available. Dicks and Modell’s Sporting Goods stores also are carrying Caps gear. Or, if you live in D.C. and Arlington, you can have t-shirts and hats hand-delivered to you through the Uber eats app starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, though availability is limited.

The Cup arrives
The team will make its triumphant return at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with the Cup in tow at Dulles International Airport. Unfortunately, fans will not have access to the event for security and safety reasons, but the Caps will still get their heroes’ welcome with a water cannon salute from the local fire department.

Worth the Wait
Relive not only the last couple of months of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the entire 2017-2018 Washington Capitals season in this tribute book from Triumph Books that will feature the work from The Washington Post reporters and photographers that documented this historical season. Worth the Wait: the Washington Capitals’ Memorable Journey to the 2018 Stanley Cup will be released on June 20. Pre-orders are available now.
