This Fourth is more than just fireworks

If you want to see the fireworks on Fourth of July, you’ll have no issue accomplishing that goal this year.

If you want to see the fireworks on Fourth of July, you’ll have no issue accomplishing that goal this year. Here are all the Independence Day celebrations going on across NoVA this year:

Independence Fireworks at Mount Vernon
June 30-July 1, 6-9:45 p.m.

Patriotic music, mansion tour (extra charge), bocce ball, dance demonstrations, 18th-century ice cream

Independence Day Fireworks at the Workhouse Arts Center
July 1, 5-9:30 p.m.

Food trucks, art exhibits, live music, local craft beer and wine

Lake Fairfax Park
July 1, all day

Live music, food, puppet show

City of Fairfax Independence Day Evening Show and Fireworks at Fairfax High School
July 4, 7-10:30 p.m.

Live music (The Hackens Boys, City of Fairfax Band and Party Like It’s…)

Celebrate America in Historic Downtown Manassas
July 4, 3-10 p.m.

Rides, food vendors, novelty vendors, bicycle-decorating contest, watermelon-eating contest, apple pie-baking contest

Town of Vienna Fourth of July Celebration at Yeonas Park and Southside Park
July 4, 4-10 p.m.

Circus show, chili dog- and pie-eating contests, moon bounce, live music (Fat Chance), games, obstacle course

Long Bridge Park
July 4, 5-10 p.m.
Food trucks, drop-in kickball games, lawn games, face painting, moon bounce, balloon art, live music

Independence Day at Ida Lee Park
July 4, 5:45-10 p.m.
Live music (Sub-Radio, The Robbie Limon Band), food vendors

Herndon’s Fourth of July Celebration at Herndon Community Center
July 4, 6:30-10 p.m.
Patriotic arts and craft activities, games, balloon artists, food vendors, live music

Independence Day Celebration at Churchill Road Elementary School
July 4, 6:30 p.m.

DJ, food vendors

• Odyssey July Fourth Fireworks Lunch/Dinner Cruise
• Spirit of Washington Independence Day Fireworks Dinner Cruise
• Spirit of Washington Independence Day Mount Vernon Cruise

Parade through town
• City of Fairfax Independence Day Parade and Celebration, July 4, 10 a.m.-noon
• Independence Day Parade in Historic Leesburg, July 4, 10-11:30 a.m.
• Dale City Independence Day Parade, July 4, time TBD
