To call Maggy François a talented multi-hyphenate would be an understatement. On paper, she’s a special-event producer and creative who launched her eponymous company 20 years
ago. But in those two decades, she’s done everything from producing local fashion shows; to serving as a casting director for feature films, commercials, and music videos; to teaching fashion-design industry classes for local college students. With clients like the Congressional Black Caucus, the NBA, Budweiser, and fashion designers Christian Siriano and Betsey Johnson, she may be based in the DMV, but her work is on the national stage. Here, the fashion industry insider shares her beauty favorites and local hot spots.
About Face
“My facial steamer gives me that boost of hydration and radiance.”
Feel the Love
“The traditional view of Valentine’s Day is romantic, but I am all about remembering to prioritize my No. 1, and that’s me. I’m all about everyone celebrating and loving themselves.”
Ice Ice Baby
“I love the benefits and the cool sensation of the Fraîcheur Facial Ice Globes. The globes help minimize inflammation or puffiness, encourage lymphatic drainage, relieve sinus pressure, and provide a radiant glow to the skin.
Stick ‘Em Up
“Hundreds of tiny pinpricks going into your skin might sound like beauty torture, but my microneedling tool could just be the best thing that ever happened to my face.”
Go Golden
“My Golden Goose sneakers in one word: comfortable! They look just as cool with fancy dresses and skirts as they do with jeans and loungewear.”
Sweet Treat
I’m a sucker for anything that has coconut in it and is rich in flavor. I ordered Cane River Pecan Cookies from Louisiana freshly baked to my door.”
Fabulous Factory
“Torpedo Factory is a beautiful hub for creatives.”
So Spicy
“Nothing beats a homemade blend of spices. Weeziana Girl is deliciously versatile, and I use it to season anything that needs a boost in flavor!”
