3 new Madison Reed color bars open in the DMV

Earlier this month, the famed hair color brand expanded its presence across the East Coast, aligning with an increase in sales during the global pandemic.

Subscription-based hair color brand Madison Reed has officially opened three new Color Bars in the DMV as of July 11, adding to its East Coast presence that debuted in December 2019 with the opening of Madison Reed at Bethesda Row.

The new locations—at Reston Town Center, the Mosaic District and Congressional Plaza in Rockville, Maryland—all offer specialized root and gloss services, with coronavirus safety precautions in place. Currently, all three locations are taking appointments and enforcing requirements like mask-wearing inside for both staff and clients, appropriate social distancing, an increase in regular cleaning practices and more.

The openings come at a time of growth for the brand, as many turned to at-home hair dye routines while statewide stay-at-home orders were put in place. During the peak of the pandemic, according to a recent press release, Madison Reed saw a rise in customers, increasing to 12 times of pre-coronavirus levels, even as its in-person Color Bars closed.

At all three color bars, clients can buy the exact color formula that professional staff create and use on clients’ hair. Plus, they can learn how to use the treatment from home, even in a post-pandemic world. For more information on the three new sites, costs and appointment availability, click here.
