A man’s skincare routine is very personal especially when it’s “No Shave November.” Local Northern Virginia brand Stubble & ‘Stache takes care of any concerns the men in your life might have while growing out their beards. Northern Virginia Magazine caught up with Nicholas Karnaze, founder of Stubble & ‘Stache, on what sets his brand apart from other men’s skincare products on the market and how his company came to be.

Based in Alexandria, Stubble & ‘Stache not only helps men maintain their beards, but these products also help support veterans. Karnaze wanted his company to include a philanthropic element so 15 percent of the profits go to organizations that help veterans who are dealing with the mental wounds of war. Karnaze is a U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations combat veteran. The idea for his company occurred to him while he was growing out his beard for his friend’s funeral. He created this brand in honor of his friend Justin Hansen, who died in Afghanistan.

Finding the right products for growing out a beard are important since itch and irritation are part of the early process for most men. Stubble & ‘Stache uses products that are multifunctional. For example, the “Face Moisturizer and Beard Conditioner” pulls double duty while keeping men’s skin moisturized and their beards conditioned and looking good. Karnaze jokes that the brand’s identity is loosely defined as “James Bond meets the most interesting man in the world.” Innovation is a key priority for Stubble & ‘Stache since they focus on using natural ingredients, such as aloe and chamomile, while creating products that are effective and safe.
No Shave November is an exciting time for men because they can fully embrace the rugged-yet-refined look with their beards. Stubble & ‘Stache helps men do just that. Visit their website here to view the products for yourself.
