Car Towed in Northern Virginia with 6-Year-Old Still Inside

The child was recovered at the towing company and is now back with his family.

A car was towed in Arlington this weekend with a 6-year-old child still inside, ABC7 News reports. Officers responded to the 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive and found that the car had been taken from private property.

The child was found at the towing company, Advanced Towing, and is now back with his family.

The tow truck driver was charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and released on a summons.

A similar incident with Advanced Towing happened in 2023, when the company towed a car from the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City with a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old inside. In that case, the children’s mother was charged for leaving them unattended in the car.

The same company has been under scrutiny in recent years for aggressive towing practices, including reports that cars were towed within minutes of being parked, even when they seemed to be parked legally.
