As cost of living gets higher in metropolitan areas, many people may be looking to move further out into the suburbs. And Woodbridge is a hot spot, a new study finds. According to an analysis by GoBankingRates, Woodbridge is the No. 1 fastest-growing suburb in the United States.
Between 2018 and 2023, Woodbridge saw a staggering population increase of 887 percent to reach its current population of 43,443.
The next two fastest-growing suburbs were Fulshear, Texas, and Celina, Texas, with 237 and 190 percent increases respectively.
The same study noted that a household would need to be making about $124,161 to live comfortably in Woodbridge, where the household median income is $100,370 and the average home value is just over $500,000.
Compared to the prices in other NoVA localities, that makes Woodbridge among the more affordable communities in the DMV.
Woodbridge is located in Prince William County, just over 20 miles from Washington, DC. It’s surrounded by the Occoquan and Potomac rivers, and natural areas like the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge and Leesylvania State Park are available for outdoor recreation. It also has conveniences like Potomac Mills Mall. Plus, it’s the hometown of country singer Shaboozey, if that’s a selling point for you.
