Leesburg police arrested eight adults and two juveniles from New York for stealing a lot of merchandise from Target on Monday. Police believe the group is an organized retail theft ring.
The case remains under investigation because officers found merchandise from other retail stores in the two vehicles they stopped as the suspects left the Target parking lot on Edwards Ferry Road NE just before 5:30 p.m.
They charged the eight adults with grand larceny, possession of burglarious tools, conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to a news release. They were taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and held on a $2,500 bond for the larceny and burglary charges and another $500 bond for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The police said the juveniles were arrested and released to a family member.
Police identified the adult suspects in the organized theft ring:
• Yerianny De los Angel Carrasquero Salas, 26, of New York
• Amilkor J. Camargo Sarmiento, 29, of New York
• Fernando De Jesus Pizarro Paredes, 35, of New York
• Keider J. Vacca Velazco, 22, of New York
• Yoccelin M. Rodriguez Barroso, 31, of New York
• Nicandro Aguirre Guerra, 30, of New York
• Yetsai Del Carmen Gerrero Toledo, 22, of New York
• Edison Pinto Pardron, 25, of New York
Three of the suspects face additional charges: Yoccelin Rodriguez-Barroso for not having a driver’s license and having an open container of alcohol; Yerianny Carrasquero-Salas for having a fictitious registration; and Fernando Pizarro-Paredes for having an open container of alcohol.
Break-in at Burberry Store
In addition to the Target thefts, Leesburg police said they are investigating a burglary at the Burberry store at 241 Fort Evans Rd. NE, that happened early Tuesday.
Four people wearing dark and gray-colored clothing entered the store after breaking the store’s front window, which activated the alarm just before 2 a.m.
