An arrest warrant has been issued for Toby Shane Kessler, the man authorities believe broke into the local Trump campaign office in Ashburn on Sunday night.
The office, located in the 2000 block of Ashbrook Place, also serves as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that shortly after 8 p.m. “Kessler forced entry into a back door of the location and spent a brief period of time inside before leaving.”
Toby Kessler, 39, of no fixed address, left nothing behind, the sheriff’s office said. It’s unclear if he took anything. He was gone by the time deputies arrived around 9 p.m.
The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in finding him. Call Detective Michael Franks at 571-918-1869, if you have any information.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a statement after the break-in.
The investigation by the sheriff’s office is ongoing.
Kessler, according to The Washington Post, has been arrested twice in Arlington County. He has a history of misdemeanor offenses in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida.
