A Sunday night break-in at Donald Trump’s Ashburn campaign office is under investigation.
The office, located in the 2000 block of Ashbrook Place, also serves as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office released photos from surveillance video that show a man wearing dark-colored clothing and a dark baseball cap entering the building. The man had a backpack with him. Deputies responded to the burglary scene around 9 p.m. on Sunday.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a statement. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”
The break-in comes a day after the presidential candidate said an Iranian group had hacked his campaign in June.
