Boozy Theft Ring That Stole $72K in ABC Goods Busted in Fairfax County

The crew pulled off 15 thefts at 11 ABC stores since March.

Fairfax County police charged four people in connection with the theft of $72,000 of stolen booze from 11 Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority stores since March.

The four — one adult and three juveniles — have been loading carts with booze and running off, police said. It’s happened 15 times, with one Columbia Forest ABC store struck three times, while a Lincolnia store and a McLean store were each robbed twice.

The Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Unit, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service, picked up the three Washington, DC, juveniles on June 27. They have been charged with three counts of grand larceny and larceny with intent to sell.

Police also linked Jomarice Evans, 27, of DC, to the alcohol store thefts. He was arrested in May on unrelated charges in another jurisdiction. In Fairfax County, he’s charged with five counts of grand larceny, five counts of larceny with intent to sell, five counts of transportation of alcohol, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, destruction of property, and organized retail theft.

Here’s when and where the stolen booze thefts have occurred:
