A 22-year-old Hybla Valley man faces multiple charges after Fairfax County detectives arrested him again for burglary. The police said it was the fifth time in 102 days.
The Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit found Angel Argueta Galeas in a Hyundai Sonata with stolen license plates Friday, Fairfax County police said in a news release. The vehicle had been stolen earlier in the day from the West Springfield area.
The police department said he had been released on bond the day before, after he was found on Tuesday in possession of items that were suspected to be stolen. The owners identified the stolen items, and police then got additional warrants to pick him up.
He’s back in jail on no bond. Argueta Galeas faces charges of grand larceny for auto theft, destruction of property, petit larceny, and violating conditions of his release. Additionally, in connection with the burglaries, he faces three counts of misdemeanor destruction of property, three counts of petit larceny, three counts of vehicle trespassing, and one count of credit card theft.
In five burglaries that happened on December 12 and December 13, Argueta Galeas is suspected of breaking into homes while the homeowners were home. In one case on Monday on Willow Crescent Drive in Oakton, items including the victim’s Nissan Altima were stolen.
The same night, officers responded to a suspicious person report near DigiTech-PC Solutions at 7601 Clifton Rd. in Fairfax Station. They say the man who ignored police commands got into the Altima that had been stolen.
The next morning, Fairfax County police received multiple calls from Swift Trails Drive in the Clifton area. In two of the calls, homeowners heard glass breaking. One of the victims was a 93-year-old woman. Police were able to secure her home with wood donated by Lowe’s and Circle Glass and Mirror in Fairfax said it would fix her window.
