Wolf Trap will not hold live performances at The Barns this fall

Here’s what music lovers from across the region need to know.

By Holly Gambrell August 18, 2020 at 1:43 pm

Wolf Trap, a beloved Northern Virginia music and arts venue, has not been able to host concerts since March, due to the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. And, the stage won’t be opening to the public this fall either.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announced today, Aug. 18, that it will not hold a fall 2020 live performance season at The Barns at Wolf Trap, including Chamber Music at The Barns concerts, due to the pandemic.

While Northern Virginians haven’t been able to head to the lawn this summer, the Foundation has actively been offering arts and educational tools and resources online, including virtual concerts, a re-imagined Wolf Trap Opera and educator training through Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts via digital platforms.

Fans can also tune into Wolf Trap Sessions, a curated collection of on-demand streaming performances, which include Park Pop-Up performances featuring local talent. And, parents can watch videos through Field Trip Fridays with their little ones for interactive, educational and musical programming.
