With the Washington Nationals returning to the field in July, fans are definitely wishing they could be celebrating with the team at Nationals Park. Even though fans will have to cheer on the team from their couch this season, Nationals Philanthropies is offering some new charitable initiatives for fans. From special scoreboard messages at the ballpark to a World Series ring sweepstakes, here are three ways to get involved while helping a good cause.
World Series Ring Sweepstakes
Own a piece of Nationals history by entering the World Series Ring Sweepstakes. One fan will win an authentic 2019 Washington Nationals World Series Championship ring that is personalized and fitted by Jostens. Fans can enter the sweepstakes with a $25 donation for each entry.
The Nationals’ first championship ring is full of symbolism from the season, including the team’s “Fight Finished” mantra, 105 regular and postseason wins and the beloved Baby Shark.
The sweepstakes runs until Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11:59 p.m. All donations from the sweepstakes go toward Nationals Philanthropies.
Scoreboard Messages
While the team is playing games in an empty Nationals Park, fans can still make their presence known by purchasing a scoreboard message. The messages will be shown on the scoreboard between innings on Nats HD.
A special message can be purchased with a $100 donation up to 24 hours before the selected game. Each message also comes with a digital photograph of your message on the scoreboard in Nationals Park.
Wall of Dreams
If you have ever walked around Nationals Park, you have probably noticed the baseballs that create the Wall of Dreams behind home plate. You can add your history to that wall by making a donation to Washington Nationals Philanthropies.
With the team adding a World Series replica ball this year, fans can choose from four different donation levels ranging from $250 to $5,000. All balls are sold on a first come, first served basis until all levels are sold.
All purchases made this year will be installed prior to the 2021 season when fans are expected to make a return to the ballpark (fingers crossed!).
