NoVA could see federal aid for July storm damage; Leesburg to close King Street for First Friday

Northern Virginia may qualify for federal aid funding due to the July flash floods that left residents stranded in flooded homes and cars throughout the region. Fairfax County saw at least $14 million in damage and the Emergency Management Coordinator of the County believes the emergency designation will be approved in the next two weeks. (WTOP)

Leesburg will close a portion of King Street for the first time during its monthly First Friday event being held today, which gathers residents to eat, drink and shop in the historic district. South King Street will be devoted to “Stroll in the Street,” and is lined with restaurants, bars, bakeries and other businesses. (WTOP)

Customers who ate at Señor Ramon at 22455 Davis Drive in Sterling from July 10 through July 26 may have been exposed to hepatitis A, after an employee was diagnosed. Individuals who have not been previously vaccinated for hepatitis A or had the disease in the past are susceptible to infection. (Inside NoVA)

WeWork, the co-working space company that offers flexible working spaces for start-ups, small businesses and more, is extending its reach in Northern Virginia. The company signed a 29,000-square-foot lease to inhabit the fifth floor of the Arlington Tower office building. (BisNow)
