Potential storms tomorrow; DC airport to suspend flights on Fourth of July

Be prepared—strong storms are expected for Independence Day in the DMV. The highs for the day will near 90 degrees, with partial cloud and sun coverage until storm chances rise later into the day. Flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will be temporarily suspended twice on Thursday, July 4, during the flyovers for President Donald Trump’s Salute to America event. The flyovers include the Navy’s Blue Angels and one of the planes used as Air Force One. Expect delays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the airport. (WUSA9)

The Nova Jeep Brigade is rallying the idea of the annual Rolling Thunder of motorcycles by bringing forth the Crawling Thunder, on July 4 in Harpers Ferry. The group is expecting 250 to 300 people from the Jeep community to participate as they travel from Manassas at 9 a.m. to Harpers Ferry Adventure Center and Harpers Ferry Brewing. Aside from the road closures in Arlington on Thursday, the Memorial Bridge will be closed to both pedestrians and vehicles throughout the day. Otherwise, metered parking throughout the city will not be enforced except around the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, Long Bridge Park and the Air Force Memorial. (Arlington)
