USDA employees relocating from DC; GMU partners with Amazon

Two research agencies under the U.S. Department of Agriculture are planning to relocate out of Washington, DC to the Kansas City area, affecting more than 547 jobs in the nation’s capital. House Democrats and the American Federation of Government Employees openly oppose the decision. (Washington Business Journal)

George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College announced a new Bachelor of Applied Science pathway in Cloud Computing degree, in partnership with Amazon Web Services. The program’s curriculum is designed to help students pursue careers in cloud architecture, cybersecurity and software development. (Fairfax News)

The nearly 100,000-square-foot ION International Training Center, featuring two National Hockey League-sized skating rinks, located off Battlefield Parkway in Leesburg, will have its grand opening on Saturday, June 15. The event will host several international figure skating competitors and past Olympians. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)
