Virginia State Senator Chap Petersen (D) said he is planning on filing a bill that would legalize sports betting in Virginia and allow the state to regulate it. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled this past May that states could set up their own laws on sports betting.

The City of Alexandria will continue to maintain control of the Torpedo Factory on a permanent basis after a unanimous vote last week. Alexandria began what was supposed to be temporary control in October 2016.
