Leesburg mother asks that White House ‘go gold’ in September; City of Alexandria decreases speed limit on U.S. Route 1

Leesburg’s Roya Giordano, whose son passed away from bone cancer at 13 years old and  formed Team Mathias to help families impacted by childhood cancer, asked President Trump to change the White House’s colors to gold in recognition of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Monday, the City of Alexandria dropped the speed limit along U.S. Route 1 between Slaters Lane and Four Mile Run, including King Street, Seminary Road and Quaker Lane, from 35 mph to 25 mph.
