I-66 dynamic toll lanes are now in effect; $227 million approved for Arlington Memorial Bridge repairs

The new dynamic tolls along I-66 came into effect Monday morning, costing solo riders inside the beltway around $3.50 at 5:30 a.m. and rising and falling to $10 by 6:30 a.m. The more cars that are on the road, the more that solo drivers will have to pay. Drivers can avoid charges if they have a passenger and an E-ZPass Flex in High Occupancy Vehicle mode.

Friday, the National Park Service announced that they have agreed to spend $227 million on making repairs to the 85-year-old Arlington Memorial Bridge. Construction, which should extend the bridge’s lifespan another 85-100 years, will begin in the fall of 2018.

The College of William & Mary’s Sigma Iota Alpha sorority has been suspended until the end of the spring 2018 semester for violating the school’s hazing policy. The sorority allegedly forced members to eat certain food, become socially isolated and avoid contact with any nonmembers.

A new Virginia Breeze express bus will offer individuals an alternative to traveling between Duke Street and the Pentagon during the two-year E-ZPass Express Lane construction. Four trips will run from Prince William’s Dale City to Arlington’s Ballston/Rosslyn area.
