‘Charmed’ actress Rose McGowan arrested in Loudoun; Manassas police officers to begin wearing body cameras

Rose McGowan, the actress who played Paige Matthews on Charmed, was arrested in Loudoun County on Tuesday. McGowan left personal belongings behind on her Jan. 20 United 653 flight to Washington Dulles International Airport. The actress’ possessions reportedly “tested positive for narcotics.”

Police in Prince William County began wearing body cameras this past September, and now the Manassas City Police Department will follow suit, choosing to equip all officers with the devices following a successful trial period involving six officers.

On Tuesday, there appeared to be “sandlike particles” on sterilized instruments and trays at Inova Fairfax Hospital, causing 150 elective procedures to be rescheduled. Inova’s vice president and chief medical officer, Dr. Scott Betzelos, said that the instruments did not pose any risk of infection, but that the procedures were cancelled as a cautionary measure.

Last Thursday, not wanting to jeopardize the local water supply, the Richmond County Board of Supervisors voted to ban hydraulic fracking in the county. Through hydraulic fracking, a combination of chemicals and water are injected into the ground so that gas and oil can be exposed.

The Alcova Heights Park trail (6th Street S. and S. Qunicy Street) closed on Tuesday due to construction starting on the State Department’s National Foreign Affairs Training Center expansion. The expansion should be complete by October 2018.
