Trump sworn in as 45th president; turnout for Women’s March exceeds expectations

Donald Trump is the 45th president of the United States. After photos emerged comparing the crowds at Trump’s inauguration to President Obama’s 2008 inauguration, Press Secretary Sean Spicer inaccurately claimed Friday’s swearing-in was “the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration.”

The turnout for the Women’s March on Washington exceeded expectations at an estimated 500,000 people, causing the march to be rerouted. There were more than 1 million trips taken on the Metro on Saturday. The White House criticized the media’s coverage of the march, calling it disproportionate.
