Jordan Witt’s interest in comics began in high school, shunning the typical mainstream Marvel collections for a more indie genre. In college one of her favorite shows, “Numbers”, spawned inspiration for her first go at her own comic, “Not an Explanation.” Twelve pages, and six months, later Witt, a 26-year old government employee by day, finished her first chapter of what would become “Scarred for Life,” expected to be printed in book form this month thanks to a generous outpouring of support on Kickstarter.

A fan of supernatural writing, Witt’s “Scarred for Life” tells the tale of two FBI agents and an intern with a “strange secret.” “I don’t remember when the stomach-mouth came into the picture,” she says of the twist to the tale. “I get one idea and mess around with it in my head until something tangible comes of it.”

Witt “tabled” at North Carolina’s HeroesCon last year and received good reception for the comic. She is also moving her craft beyond her current capabilities with a new, bigger story to tell in “The Organization of Ghosthunters,” which she is currently writing. / 52nddoor.com –Lynn Norusis
