Mark your calendars for this year’s Aspire House McLean event

The event, being held in late August, is offering limited on-site tours, as well as virtual tours of its design house.

Interior decorating aficionados have something to look forward to this summer: An in-person design event. That’s right, the Aspire House: McLean 2020 event has been planned with limited on-site tours, and virtual tours too, from Friday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 14.

The event, which will benefit the Aspire Design and Home Diversity in Design Scholarship Fund, is being hosted by Aspire Design and Home magazine at its Aspire House, located at 952 Mackall Farms Lane, McLean this year.

The show house will feature over 25 designers and their work, and is being held in partnership with Artisan Builders, Harrison Design, Circa Lighting, Dacor, Pella, Siematic and Sherwin-Williams.

Designers who helped to create the Aspire House McLean include Alaina Michelle Ralph; Allie Mann/Case Architects & Remodelers; Anna Maria Mannarino; Annie Elliott; Christian Daw; Courtney McLeod; Elizabeth Gill; Federica Asack; George Hemphill; Janie Molster; Jennifer Stoner; Jodi Macklin; Jonas Carnemark; Josh Hildreth; Katalin Farnady; Kiyonda Powell; Lenore Winters; Maria Galiani; Mary Douglas Drysdale; Melissa Colgan; Nestor Santa-Cruz; Nile Johnson; Olvia Demetrio; Pamela Harvey; Paul Fogg/Janus et Cie; Paul Lobkovich; Sophie Prevost; Michael Winn/Winn Design + Build; and Thomas Preston.

The event will open on Friday, Aug. 21 with a preview party, and the home will remain open through Sunday, Sept. 14, with a limited number of guests allowed to tour the house during the week (specific days and hours will be announced online). Face masks and temperature checks will be required for all guests. For those who would like to see the home virtually, tours of each room will be online as well.

Funds raised from the event will provide scholarships for aspiring design talent from underrepresented communities throughout the world in support of diversity in the design industry.
