Stop and smell the flowers, and then appreciate the local florists who put the bouquet together. That’s what 1-800-Flowers.com is doing with the launch of its 2019 Local Artisan Collection, featuring 11 florists across the nation—three of which are based in Northern Virginia.

1-800-Flowers hosts an annual Local Artisan Design Workshop, a program that brings together a select group of expert florists to work in collaboration with the company’s product development team. Arrangements created together are then selected to become a part of the Local Artisan Collection, and are featured on the website for purchase nationwide.

Among the florists named in the collection are mother-daughter duo Margaret Fleegal and Tricia Smith, of Twinbrook Floral Design in Fairfax and Develyn Reed of Achara Florist in Stafford.

Smith designed the Floral Treasures Bouquet for the collection, Fleegal designed Sunset Passion and Reed’s featured arrangements include Mother’s Embrace and Sensational Spring Beauty.

Arrangements in this year’s collection (Mother’s Day gifts, anyone?) range in price from $39.99 to $124.99, and are available here.
