A recent ranking by Healthgrades confirms what you probably already know: NoVA’s hospitals provide great care.
Inova Loudoun Hospital ranked among the 100 best hospitals in a yearly ranking done by Healthgrades, an online resource for information about doctors and hospitals. Inova Alexandria Hospital and Reston Hospital Center ranked in the nation’s top 250.
Healthgrades issued its annual rankings of the 250 best hospitals nationwide and the best in each state in January. Its rankings evaluated hospitals for overall clinic excellence for 31 conditions. It broke down its awards into three categories: 50 Best Hospitals; 100 Best Hospitals: and 250 Best Hospitals.
In all, 12 Virginia hospitals are among those rated tops in the nation, but none turned up in the top 50. Hospitals across the state received 49 awards.
On the Virginia rankings, here’s how Northern Virginia’s hospitals fared:

- No. 3 in Pulmonary Care

- No. 4 in Cardiac Care (Sentara Norfolk General ranked No. 1)

- No. 3 in Gastrointestinal Care
